Apologies for the lack of posts last week. Time got ahead of me and stories escaped me. Unfortunate, but that's just how life goes sometimes and you have to roll with the hand you're dealt. Cut your losses type of deal.

I'll stop with the card puns now.

In all seriousness, the week before this had been about reflecting and growing from life experiences we had dealt with, and while my story of honors, to illness, to spiteful averageness did teach me an important life lesson, it was event from 11 years ago that had effects only just culminating as I graduated high school. Details were hazy, despite the lesson well learned.
That lesson being, at least as I learned it, was as follows: "Spite, as good as it feels, often hurts you more than the person you intend it for. Focus on yourself, as only your actions can improve your person."

As touching as that is, that was supposed to be two weeks ago. So enough focusing on the past - instead let's focus on the past.

Monday we drew our attention to Academic Integrity, and how slip-ups in school policy can have disastrous results. I, no doubt, am already wary of what may have been counted as an absence last week and the results of such towards my Academic Integrity. The basics are age-old. Don't cheat, be punctual, get your work done on time, and don't bring food or electronics into testing.

But with the old always comes new experiences and rules, like mandatory uniforms and harsh penalties toward absences and lack of uniforms. It also comes with leniencies in testing where you can potentially be later than half an hour and still be able to start the test without penalty. This is, of course, provided no one else has finished their examination.

Going forward, I'm going to have double, triple, and quadruple down on my studies, which is going to be rough with my sleep schedule. Looks like Thursdays and Tuesdays just got busier.

I may have gone all-in on the card jokes at the end there. I can't honestly say I'm sorry.

Stay tuned for the update next week, this is Lyn signing off.

A New Semester Requires New Goals

It's the start of a new semester and more importantly, a new start at college. High school is in the past a good few years now, and I'm only getting back to education. I'm expecting these first few weeks to be a bit rough, but let's hope things smooth over faster than expected.

Goals for this semester are as follows:
1) Get back in flow of learning
2) Improve on my shoddy habits from High School.
3) Go from base understanding of how physiology works to being confident in my knowledge of human biology
4) Complete all of these responsibly and without significant strain to my health

The fact that I'm enjoying the homework I'm given so far should be a good start, but I can't lie that nerves are starting to eat at me. The first week has yet to start though. There's still plenty of time to have things cleared up, and hopefully, I won't be in too much trouble.
